Many Monkeys provided the technical firepower for this collaboration between the studio and artists Nyanu Watson and Jimmy McGilchrist.
Watson is an Anangu elder from the central deserts of Australia and custodian of the Ngintaka creation story. For this project Monkeys helped bring one of her dot paintings to life for the Ngintaka exhibition at the South Australian Museum which ran from 29 March 2014 to 22 June 2014.
A custom room was built within the Museum to house a floor projection of Watson’s Ngintaka painting. Using motion tracking technology the audience was able to move the dots of the painting and interact with its star, the Ngintaka (lizard).
